The Advanced Clinical Practice Academy (ACP Academy) was founded by two senior clinicians — Thomas, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner with a paramedic background spanning urgent care, general practice, and front line emergency care; and Sarah, a seasoned doctor with extensive experience in Emergency Medicine, trauma care, and clinical leadership.

Their careers have evolved across frontline services, from community settings to high-acuity hospital environments, bridging the gap between traditional professional roles and the expanding world of advanced clinical practice. Both have led teams, taught postgraduate learners, contributed to national clinical strategy, and mentored colleagues stepping into senior roles. They know first-hand the pressure of complex decision-making, the reality of lone working, and the nuance of multidisciplinary collaboration.

What unites them and underpins ACP Academy is a shared frustration with the lack of inclusive, role-relevant education.

Too often, resources are written for medical students, with other professions treated as an afterthought. Thomas and Sarah built ACP Academy to change that: to bring clarity, clinical precision, and lived experience into one trusted platform.
